Rome Fiumicino Airport

The Roma Fiumicino Airport, also known as the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, is located in the territory of the Municipality of Fiumicino, about 30 km west of the city centre of Rome. The traffic of almost 43 million passengers in 2018 makes it the largest airport in Italy by number of passengers. It is the headquarters of the airlines Alitalia and Vueling (together with Barcelona Airport). It is also the operational base of Alitalia CityLiner, Blue Panorama Airlines, Mistral Air, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Ryanair. A total of 105 airlines operate from Leonardo da Vinci Airport. For these reasons, it is the Italian airport most chosen by millions of tourists every year for a stay at Fabulous Village. Due to its great proximity to the capital and the campsite.

Today it has three terminals (T1, T3 and T5) reserved for national, international and intercontinental flights. Terminal 1 is used for domestic flights, for flights in Europe in the Schengen area and for all Alitalia's medium-haul flights. Terminal 3 is the largest, used by many airlines such as British Airways, EasyJet, Emirates, Lufthansa and Qatar Airways, for both domestic, European and international flights. In correspondence of Terminal 3 there are also the bus stables and the railway station. Terminal 5 is used exclusively for international flights to countries whose security regulations are more restrictive, i.e. the United States and Israel. From this terminal operate for example American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta, El Al (the Israeli flag carrier), Israir and Srilankan.

Connections with the city

The airport, built about 32 km from Rome, is well connected to the Fabulous Village and the centre of the capital by taxi and private shuttles. The latter are obviously the fastest means of transport. The fastest and most practical way to reach Fabulous Village from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is by private shuttle bus. It is in fact only 12.3 km from the campsite, and by car or shuttle it usually takes 20 minutes to get there. The road distance is 21.4 km. The route is easily accessible, and crosses placid green areas near the eternal city.
